How SweetScense Began

The idea to develop our solid aromatherapy diffusers arose from our positive experience with liquid aromatherapy but not liking the fuss, muss and mess when dealing with the liquid essential oils. "Wouldn't it be great if we could just open a jar and enjoy the same benefits of aromatherapy liquids in a solid form?"
Based on over two years of research and testing a solid version of traditional aromatherapy was developed that retains all the benefits of liquid aromatherapy diffusion without the concerns with burning candles or the worries about messy oil spills and stains.
Hence the launching of SweetScense Aromatherapy and the development of our Original Solid Aromatherapy Diffuser products.

To ensure consistency and quality control, chemical and gas chromatography analyses for each raw material is required before it is used in any of our products!

SweetScense Today

Since the start, our product line has continued to expand as more application areas were explored, researched and developed. We continue to use the core ten SweetScense essential oil blends but now offer them in four distinct formats:
The Original Solid Inhaler Jars: for continuous release and overnight use
Refillable Travel Sized Inhaler Tubes
Dropper Vials: 100% Pure Oil Blends for traditional use, cold mist diffusers, use in steam showers and to refill our Travel Sized Tubes.
Pillow & Body Scents: Pure Essential Oils are pre-blended in a Certified Organic Aloe Vera base, for direct application to the skin or pillow.

We also have developed a variety of natural bath, body and lip care products!

The History of our "SweetScense Originals" product line

After over two years of research and testing a gel was created that could solidify essential oils and when  exposed to the air would release the essential oils in a continuous, controlled manner. Based on historical data, traditional uses and results from combining various essential oils, ten different blends were created to save people the time and effort of researching aromatherapy and understanding which oils to blend together to achieve a particular historical effect or sense of well being. All of this without having to light a candle (note that heating oils can destroy their therapeutic properties), worry about spills or touch any essential oils. It is now so simple, just open a jar or tube, inhale the aroma and enjoy.

The product was conceived, designed and created by a research chemist in consultation with a Professional Chemist. She has managed to encapsulate (trap) the essential oils in a proprietary gel that evaporates in a controlled manner. The gel has a "jello-like" texture and is made entirely out of food grade ingredients. In fact it is as close to being a natural product as possible without having the plants, fruits or flowers present. Even though the gel itself is food grade, with the concentration of essential oils used, these products cannot be consumed and should not be ingested at any time.

When the gel is exposed to air, the essential oils are released. The aroma from the essential oils is then inhaled in the same way as with any other inhalation aromatherapy method.   It is important to realize that responses achieved will not only vary with the essential oil(s) used but with the individual using the product as well.
